Glass Fiber Reinforced Epoxy (GFRE) Sheets is a strong rigid material made of E-Glass Fabric and Epoxy Resin cured under specific heat and pressure. This sheet is getting used for the roof ceiling of passenger coaches.
Existence of GFRE came at a time when existing NFTC sheet was adversely failing especially in General class and SLR coaches.
Considering the requirement of alternate material, Railway approached Milton Industries for making some material which is not just robust, aesthetically pleasing and cost effective but also can withstand with the fire safety requirement and accordingly Milton Industries has developed GFRE sheets which is well known for its excellent physical strength, heat resistance, moisture resistance and Di-electrical properties. GFRE sheets are complying with HL3 of EN 45545-2 for fire safety.
